Craniofacial reflexology
Facial and cranial reflexology is a relaxation and stimulation reflex technique that brings a feeling of deep relaxation to the whole body.
The method I propose is derived from Ingham reflexology. In other words, it’s the Western approach. It is distinguished by its gentleness, involving an entirely manual massage combining pressure, rotation, pinching, smoothing and delicate but confident effleurage.
Craniofacial reflexology is based on a simple principle: the cranium houses our brain, as well as the glands that are essential to our physiological, emotional, physical and psychological well-being. This region of the human body is therefore extremely rich and receptive.
Using simple, gentle techniques, this method offers many benefits:
- Reducing stress by stimulating the nerve endings in the scalp
- Release of blockages in congested areas and superficial muscle tension
- Elimination of toxins
- Revitalises, softens and activates the drainage of connective tissue
- Significant effectiveness in stimulating microcirculation, improving oxygenation and detoxification of tissues, bringing a new radiance to the complexion
- Soothes tension thanks to its relaxing effect
Craniofacial reflexology is particularly indicated in cases of :
- mental fatigue, weariness, low morale
- nervous tension, overwork
- mood disorders, anxiety
- stress headaches
- disturbances in sleep quality
- muscular pain and tension in the head, neck and upper body due to stress
- ringing in the ears
- blocked nose
- teeth grinding or clenching (bruxism)
- eye fatigue, eye strain
- hormonal disorders
- awareness body schema (cortical topography)
It is absolutely contraindicated in cases of :
- high fever
- abscess, herpes labialis
- recent cosmetic surgery
- certain cancers
- pacemaker
- severe depression, major psychiatric disorders
- high-risk pregnancy and during the first 3 months
